Nothing like a little surprise launch to make a Monday fun, right? 2K Games' iPhone edition of Civilization Revolution is now live on the App Store, ready for download at $4.99. Civilization Revolution is based on the console-friendly edition of Civilization IV 2K Games released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo DS. Streamlined but not stripped down, Revolution still lets players select a society for up to 16 of the world's most powerful (America to Aztec) and compete for dominance through means of science, culture, economy, or war.
 

Civilization Revolution is based on Civilization IV.

Civilization Revolution is currently only a single-player game, which is news that may dismay some hardcore Civ fans. It is not impossible to see multiplayer appear in an update along with the other promised updated features, such as achievements and Twitter integration.
