LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 First Look PC,PS2
Genre: Action,Adventure
Posted:29 January 2010
After seeing LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 in action for the first time, two things stand out to me. First, the game is really visually appealing. I know LEGO games have always used cute characters and bright colors as a whole, but this one has some great set pieces and detail. Diagon Alley is popping with color and twisted buildings; there are the familiar paintings on the walls of Hogwarts, but they've been LEGO-ized; and Hogwarts looks pretty slick as you run through its stone corridors and assemble LEGO suits of armor. Second, LEGO Harry Potter feels more like a traditional game than any of the LEGO games I've played before.

Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love Preview PS2
Genre: Strategy
Posted:29 January 2010
The very premise of the Sakura Wars franchise has always interested me: an apparently potent melange of dating sim and strategy elements (with mechs, no less) was so undeniably Japanese in its approach that I really did want to see how it worked. It may have taken the better part of a decade, but the boys and girls at NIS America are finally making it happen. After a few hours with Sakura Wars, we're ready to hop right up onto the "holy crap, it actually works bandwagon" and declare this to be one of the last PS2 games you may ever want to check out.
