Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines Deets

Altair's back. We've got a storyline and a PS3/PSP connection.
 
Back in February, Sony dropped some portable bombshells at Destination PlayStation and let the world know that LittleBigPlanet, MotorStorm, Rock Band, and Assassin's Creed were coming to the PSP. Since then, we've seen and written a lot about those games with the exception of Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines.
 
Today, that changed.
 
Over on the official PlayStation Blog, Frederic Lefrancois, one of the game's producers, popped up to discuss the title. Bloodlines will fill in the gap between Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed 2 while casting you as Altair from the first game.
 

Where's Kratos when you need him?

The title's going to pick up right after the events of the original game with Altair going after the ascending Templars in Cyprus while helping the local resistance chase off the bad guys. Lefrancois wrote that Altair will be a bit different this time around because he's "no longer bound by Al Mualim's leadership, he forges his own path and destiny. He has become more curious, more inquisitive and far less trusting." Still, the producer said to expect the same free-running and slick combat that you found in the first game while playing eight new mission types.
 
A boon for dedicated Sony fans is the fact that Bloodlines will connect with Assassin's Creed 2 on the PlayStation 3. On the console, you'll unlock health and hidden blade upgrades that will carry over to your PSP. On the PSP, you'll unlock Templar Coins and weapons that will carry over to the PS3.
 

Nothing to see here; I'm just walking.

The game's being developed by Griptonite Studio under the supervision of Ubisoft Montreal's Assassin's Creed Core Team and is set for a November release -- or at least that's when the bundle it coming out. Yup, if you plop down the MSRP of $199.99 you'll get the game, a white PSP-3000, a 2GB memory stick, and a UMD movie to be named later.
