Jones reaches final after match point battle

New Zealander Sacha Jones had to battle back from match point to win her semifinal in the $US10,000 ($NZ15,575) ITF Futures tennis tournament in Brownsville, Texas.

Second seed Jones downed American qualifier Macall Harkin 2-6 7-6 6-4 to set up a final against Ester Goldfeld (United States).

Jones and Ashley Weinhold of the USA are top seeds in the doubles and play wildcards Harkins and Goldfeld (USA) in the final tomorrow.

On the men's ITF Futures Tour in Giza, Egypt, New Zealander Oliver Statham succumbed 4-6 4-6 to third seed Photos Kallias (Cyprus) in the semifinal.
