Baghdatis out of Wimbledon due to knee injury

AP | 20 June 2009 05:05am

Marcos Baghdatis has withdrawn from Wimbledon due to a knee injury and been replaced by Karol Beck of Slovakia.

The 95th-ranked Cypriot, a Wimbledon semifinalist and Australian Open finalist in 2006, had been drawn Friday to play the 21st-seeded Feliciano Lopez of Spain in the first round at Wimbledon.

Baghdatis had pulled out of his second-round match at the Ordina Open in the Netherlands on Wednesday, citing a knee problem.
