Junior Warriors one win away from grand final
20 September 2008 05:09pmThe Junior Warriors are just one win away from making the inaugural National Youth Cup rugby league grand final after a 38-4 thrashing of Penrith in Auckland yesterday.
After eliminating St George Illawarra 47-20 in Melbourne last Sunday, the Tony Iro-coached side was untroubled in a seven-try performance at Mt Smart Stadium.
They surged to a 22-0 lead after the opening quarter through tries to prop Russell Packer, hooker Arron Pawley, winger Bill Tupou and fullback Kevin Locke.
The Junior Warriors will meet Brisbane at the Sydney Football Stadium on Saturday in the curtain raiser to the New Zealand Warrior's National Rugby League semifinal against Manly.
