Wolves sign Serbia midfielder
16 June 2009 07:30amWolves signed Serbia midfielder Nenad Milijas from Red Star Belgrade on a four-year contract Monday.
The 26-year-old Milijas will join the Molineux side pending a successful work permit application as Wolves embark on a Premier League campaign after securing promotion from the League Championship.
Milijas was named player of the year in the Serbian league last season.
"Nenad is a star player and an international of note in a talented Serbian team," Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey said. "He scored 16 goals from 30-odd games for Red Star Belgrade last season from central midfield, and is also a physical presence who can play in a variety of different positions as well as being left-footed which gives the team more balance."
