Fulham signs Kelly from Birmingham
17 June 2009 08:21amIreland defender Stephen Kelly became Fulham's first offseason signing on Tuesday, joining on a three-year contract from Premier League rival Birmingham.
The 25-year-old Kelly made 37 appearances for Tottenham and had brief loan spells at Southend, Queens Park Rangers and Watford before joining Birmingham in June 2006. He also had a spell on loan at Stoke last season.
"He is a talented young fullback with experience of playing in the Premier League as well as competing at international level," Fulham manager Roy Hodgson said. "He will be a useful addition as we look to improve our squad ahead of the start of next season, and I am hopeful that we will be able to announce further additions in the coming weeks."
