Fine spells and a few showers.
Coromandel, Bay of Plenty, the central high country and from Wanganui to Kapiti
Showers clearing this morning and becoming mainly fine. However, showers returning this evening from Wanganui southwards.
Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Occasional showers, but long fine spells this afternoon.
Wellington, Wairarapa and Marlborough
Heavy showers returning this afternoon, possibly thundery with hail.
Nelson
Mainly fine, but a few showers this afternoon.
Buller and Westland
Showers clearing from afternoon.
Canterbury
Showers developing this morning, some heavy. Becoming fine towards evening, apart from a few showers about Banks Peninsula.
Otago, Southland and Fiordland
Showers spreading north this morning, some heavy with hail and snow lowering to 600 metres on the Catlins. Becoming fine inland late afternoon.
