A deep low system moves east across the South Island today, bringing very strong west to northwest winds over the country. The low is expected to move away to the east and weaken on Monday, with an associated front becoming slow-moving over the North Island. Another complex low system should affect the country during Tuesday and early Wednesday.
Manukau and Waitemata Harbours, and for the Hauraki Gulf: Sunday: Northerly 20 knots rising to 25 knots gusting 35 knots this morning then tending northwest this afternoon. Moderate sea becoming rough this morning. Poor visibility in rain developing this afternoon. For Bream Head to Cape Colville: Sunday: Northerly 20 knots gusting 30 knots rising to 25 knots gusting 35 knots this morning and to northwest 30 knots gusting 40 knots this afternoon. Moderate sea becoming rough this morning. Fair visibility in showers, becoming poor in rain developing this afternoon.
